What is the actual climax in the book "The maltese falcon"?

From one perspective it is the moment when Gutman unwraps the falcon and discovers it to be a fake. The title of the book is _The Maltese Falcon_; the central object is shown to be an illusion. However, the only reason Spade was after the falcon was that Brigid O'Shaughnessy wrapped him in the web of her interests. He was, as she intended, interested in her ually. Therefore the real climax of the book comes when that central interest dissolves and Spade reveals what he has known (for how long, I am not sure). Showdown time occurs when Spade confronts Brigid O'Shaughnessy to tell her that she killed Miles Archer and that she is not one of the communal group that stands by its own standards of honesty and integrity. The fuss about the falcon, notwithstanding the title, is diversionary.
