When and how did Giant short faced kangaroo's become extinct..?

Several sources say that it went extinct 40,000 years ago, although in areas where it's survived with red kangaroos, they became extinct 15,000 years ago. It's theorized that the species died out during the Pleistocene (2.588 million to 12,000 years ago) after climate shift, or possibly due to human interaction, since they would have shared a time with the Aboriginal people for 30,000 years.
